From the parking lot at 36th St. and West River Parkway in Minneapolis (3600 West River Parkway) hike North on the trail to E. Franklin St. Turn Left (South) to East Lake St. & Minnehaha Ave. Follow Minnehaha Ave. Southeast to 35th St. & go East to W. River Parkway, then go 1 block South back to the 36th St. parking lot. (5mi.)
Hike around Birch Lake in WBL.
Park in the lot of Rotary Park Reserve, 4900 White Bear Pkwy. Take the trail South through the park and go right at the next street, (Birch Lake Blvd.N). Stay on that to White Bear Pkwy. turn left (S), go to Hwy. #96, go left again (E) to Otter Lake Rd., and left (N) on Otter Lake Rd. to Birch Lake Blvd. N again. Another left back to the trail, and the trail back to the starting point. (3mi.). Printable Map

Starting at the Maplewood Library at 3025 Southlawn Dr., head through the wetland on the paved path behind the Library ‘til it connects to Legacy Pkwy. Cross over to the path under the high voltage line and follow it to Hazelwood St. Turn right and head to County Rd. D. Turn left & head to the Vento Trail. Take a left to the Vento Trail for 1.5 miles to nearly Gervais Ave. where you’ll take a sharp left into Harvest Park. Follow the trail in the park to the parking lot where you turn right and follow the trail to Barclay St. When you reach Sextant Ave. turn left and follow it all the way to Kennard St. Turn right on Kennard and then left on Gervais Ave. Turn left at the path into the park and follow it through Four Seasons Park until Demont Ave., where you turn left. At Germain St., turn right and follow it to County Rd. C. Cross over “C” into Hazelwood Park and follow the park trail to Beam Ave. Cross over Beam and follow the sidewalk around the Birch Run shopping center to Southlawn Dr. and turn left. Begin at the Presidential White House, 3966 Reservoir Blvd., Columbia Hts. Park on the street. Walk Southwest on Reservoir to Central Ave., cross the street, turn left to Columbia Pkwy., turn right and walk to 5th St. NE, turn right, and walk to 37th Ave., turn left and then right on Huset Pkwy. Walk to Jefferson St., turn left at the roundabout & walk to 40th Ave. Turn right and walk to Reservoir Blvd. and then right to 3966.
Woodbury has over 155 miles of trails to hike near various lakes, ponds, and wetlands. Lakes you could be seeing are: Colby Lake, Wilmes Lake (both North & South lakes) Powers Lake and Markgraf’s Lake. Colby Lake Park, 9715 Valley Creek Rd. is across from Carmine’s Restaurant. Others: Edgewater Park, 3100 Edgewater Dr. (entrance off Lake Rd.) Summit Pointe, 1599 Interlachen Pkwy. and there are several others you can enjoy.
