This year we will be doing it on: Wednesday, December 9 from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the ENTRANCE door of Cub Foods, 2100 Snelling Ave N, in Roseville (Har Mar Mall). Stop by and say, “Hello!” and/or drop off a donation or

you can go to their website at: salvationarmynorth.org. They have QR codes on their signs for touchless donations too! Whatever money is sent to them is used here in our community.

HIKING CLUB CENTENNIAL HIKE

And all other activities connected with the Centennial have been cancelled for the month the first hike took place (January) and moved to July 11, 2021, when festivities will include the usual get-together, we should have had last July! It’s all relocating for 2021 (just 2021!) to Indian Mounds Park, the starting points for the hike re-creation.

HIKING CLUB HISTORY

A little fun history here - For the Sunday hike of 12/27/98, the Scheduler could not find a leader. The hike leader was listed as: “No One Jones with a phone # of 651-000-0000.” The notice read: “No one agreed to lead this hike, so we’ll meet in the south parking Lot of the Como Lake Pavilion. Unless a volunteer takes over, we will just walk around the lake a few times.”

Social gatherings have been a club feature from the beginning. Fifty-nine persons attended a first anniversary celebration on Saturday January 14, 1922 after the hike. A supper and a dance were provided at a cost of .50 cents/person.

See December Hike Schedule for ideas for your own hike.
